Today's tip is short and sweet.
Before you move in, or as soon as possible thereafter
Clean Your Carpets!
I don't care if you have them professionally done,
or if you do it yourself.
But do it. Really.
Who knows what goes on in someone else's house?
or on their floors?
Between pets, kids, and everything under the sun ... chances are your carpets have been exposed to all manner of bodily fluids, plus God knows what before you moved in.
'nuff said.
Absolutely great advice, you should clean the carpet even if it looks clean.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are doing this 31 day topic. I'm a new military wife and we are moving again the end of the month to base housing. While it's the same town it seems like a never ending cycle of unsettling mess!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more tips!
Alethia - yes - even if it "looks" clean. I'm thinking of an "aren't you glad you use dial?" commercial, lol!
ReplyDeleteNoelle - welcome to the club! I loved living on base - I hope you do too!
Noelle, I grew up on AF bases until I was 16 years old. I wouldn't trade a solitary (beige) minute of it. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCarpet cleaning - yes. Thankfully, we moved to a house with carpet only in the bedrooms, which made that cleaning task a bit faster.
So far, I'm 2 fer 2!
